We WANT to be immigrants.
Before we get to what I mean by that, we almost booked our one-way flight to Spain yesterday morning. The discount arm of Iberia—LEVEL—threw a $235 each-way offer into our email. Not bad, but we can do better.
Last year, when we flew into Barcelona, we paid about $240 each roundtrip. If I recall correctly, it was the first leg of the flight we secured for around $30. That was in late June as part of LEVEL’s anniversary sale. We anticipate that sale happening again, so we’ll be ready. And if you’d like to travel to Spain, you should be as well. Plus, LEVEL sends deals like the $235 one quite frequently.
Bottom line(s): We’re beyond ready to book that flight and get the hell out of Los Angeles and you’ll pay less to vacation in Spain from many large U.S. cities than you would to take a domestic trip to, say, New York or LA.
Anyhow—
The original title of this article was something to the effect of We Will Always Be Outsider Expats In Spain, But We Don’t Want To Be Outsider Expats.
