Never Retire: The View From Our Mattress Three Sleeps Before We Move To Spain
Also, an update on porting our mobile numbers to Google Voice
I wish I had something emotional or otherwise profound to say with just two full days left before we leave for Spain on Thursday. Or maybe I should be happy that I don’t.
That’s the view from our mattress on Monday night. Three more sleeps to go.
We haven’t had a bed frame for a couple of weeks now. We sold the chest of drawers the television was sitting on last week. The apartment continues to empty. By Wednesday night, we will be packed and ready to go.
On Thursday morning, we’ll bring our internet router and modem to the UPS Store so they can ship them back to Spectrum. We’ll likely have one last coffee at the place I frequent most in the neighborhood. Then, we’ll say our goodbyes to the apartment, hop in a cab and head to LAX for our flight to Barcelona. We land there on January 3rd around 4:00 pm local time, then take a train to Valencia the night of January 6th.
All pretty mundane stuff. However, in the mundane, there’s meaning. Meaning that gets to the core of why we’re doing this.
So, maybe I do have something of substance to say after all.
