I really like this post from February of this year, which remains super relevant today.
It combines data and commentary on the high cost of food and drink in America with a few more places we visited in Barcelona, including with and . What a great time that we’ll soon be able to replicate. In fact, I have already more tentative plans with people in Spain and surroundings than I have had with people all year in Los Angeles.
That said—I’m not much of a social butterfly. I don’t have a ton of friends. And I don’t like having plans all of the time. The social environment we’re moving to Spain for is more about the informal social interactions that often lead to something more or otherwise meaningful. The type of stuff the physical environment in places such as Spain helps facilitate in a way that’s literally impossible across most of the United States.
