Never Retire - 2023 Is Already Off To A Good Start
This will be my last post of 2022.
Thanks to everyone who subscribes and takes the time to read and respond to the newsletter.
Through the end of the year, you can sign up for an annual subscription at 20% off the regular price. Founding members pay once and convert to a lifetime subscription. A majority of what I publish in the Never Retire newsletter in 2023 will only be available to paid subscribers.
Here’s a preview—
In a post from last week, I made a pitch to subscribers to contribute to the newsletter next year.
I received a better-than-expected response so expect some interesting guest posts and collaborations next year covering topics such as—
Family financial planning
Owning rental property
Dealing with loneliness and related issues in relative old age
And maybe even a dispatch from a subscriber who lives part-time in Puerto Rico
If you’d like to contribute your thoughts next year—and you have a Substack—I’m happy to reciprocate with a guest post.
I hope to start these guest posts in early-to-mid January.
Then, as noted at the beginning of the month, February and March look like this—
As you might know, my partner and I will spend February in Spain and Italy.
The intinerary—Barcelona, Valencia, Madrid, Rome, Naples, Barcelona
For the month of February, I’m currently planning a month-long series of 20 Never Retire newsletter posts in 28 days.
Each post will include the following (in no particular order)—
Photography from the cities we visit.
Thoughts, observations, highlights from the cities we visit.
A breakdown of what we spent each day to compare the cost of living in Spain and Italy to the United States and elsewhere.
A Never Retire checklist item. A total of 20 practical money/work/life-related boxes you need to check to live the semi-retired life you wanna live now and for the duration.
Then, in March, I’ll do 20 posts in 31 days, meticulously detailing each of the 20 items.
It’s shaping up to be a busy first quarter for the Never Retire newsletter.
Great time to upgrade to a paid subscription as I intend to continue to expand the scope of what we cover and who contributes as we move forward.
We’re going into the end of 2022 with a 117 paid subscribers, a modest, but nice 5.4% pop since last time I updated you on our subscriber numbers.
I appreciate every subscription—free and paid—and wish each of you a healthy, happy, and safe holiday season headed right through to the New Year. 2023.
I can’t wait to write the newsletter from the road in February of next year.
