Expect a report from Paris—where we are now!—in a day or so.
But I want to use the meantime to look back on Thursday, February 8th in Barcelona.
We all have those days—at home, when we’re traveling, whenever—where we find ourselves with a day to do whatever. Whether you’re home or elsewhere, it’s always fun to explore the city you’re in. I did it not long ago in Los Angeles, where it cost $52 to have—over the course of maybe 5 hours—three beers, a Fernet and a chicken shawarma.
On this day in Spain, Melisse caught a bug—likely the flu. So I had the day to take care of her and wander around Barcelona on my own.
Like Melisse noted as I was getting set to leave on my first sojourn, this was a good opportunity to experience real day-to-day life living in Spain. Mainly, me navigating life as I learn Spanish and—because we were on vacation—doing a bit more exploring than I might when we live in Spain in the comfort of our own apartment. A nice test run nevertheless.
So, how did it go?
First stop—the pharmacy.
