Financial Advisors Are Embracing The 'Never Retire' Reality

Today, we’re headed to Lyon, France, after spending the first 12 days or so of this trip in Barcelona and Girona, Spain and Montpelier, France.

These days, I use LinkedIn for two things—

• To casually check out the freelance writing marketplace. It paid off, as an interaction on LinkedIn with an old colleague led to my CNN gig.

• To see what financial advisors are saying. And, I gotta say, it has been a breath of fresh air.

We’ll illustrate the latter in a second in a way I think will inspire those of you—present company included—who will Never Retire and want to Live The Semi-Retired Life.

Financial advisors—and the larger community of financial professionals, particularly the ones who specialize in retirement—acted a lot like taxi drivers did when ride sharing came along. They kicked, screamed and tried to stick to their old ways.
